The last thing to learn about is one of the environmental issues, and the effects on some of the animals.
Environmental Issue- Deforestation That Causes Loss of Shelter and Food:
Two Organisms: Toucan and Fruit Fly
Negative- When the forest gets cut down, the fruit trees will be cut down as well. This will effect the Toucans and Fruit Flys because fruit is one of their major food sources, and without it, some of them will start to die off.
Positive- Even though both the Fruit Flys and Toucans will be dying, Toucans also eat Fruit Flys, and that will mean there will be less Toucans to eat the Fruit Flys. Therefore, the Fruit Fly population would increase because it would be losing a preditor.

One Organism: Tapir
Negative- If the trees get cut down because of deforestation, the Tapir will lose their main source of food, which means lots of Tapirs will die because of starvation.
Positive- Jaguars prey on animals such as Howler Monkeys, Toucans, and of course, Tapirs. Because most of the animals that the Jaguar eats are herbivores, the loss of the forest will lower the populations of all these animals. Therefore, the Jaguars will also start to die off because they cannot find enough prey. This means their wil be less Jaguars to hunt the Tapirs, so less Tapirs will be eaten.
